Ingredients

Core

  • Cooked chicken, shredded
  • Chicken broth
  • Milk
  • Butter
  • All-purpose flour

Vegetables

  • Carrots, sliced
  • Celery, sliced
  • Onion, diced

Seasoning

  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Dried thyme

Instructions

Build Base

  • Sauté vegetables in butter until softened.
  • Add broth and bring to a simmer.

Add Chicken

  • Stir in shredded chicken.

Dumpling Dough

  • Mix flour, milk, salt, and pepper into a thick batter.

Drop & Steam

  • Drop spoonfuls of dough into simmering broth.
  • Cover and cook until dumplings puff and set.

Overseer’s Notes

  • Keep the lid closed while dumplings cook.
  • Thicker broth = more comfort.
  • Add peas for color.
