Ingredients
Core
- Cooked chicken, shredded
- Chicken broth
- Milk
- Butter
- All-purpose flour
Vegetables
- Carrots, sliced
- Celery, sliced
- Onion, diced
Seasoning
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Dried thyme
Instructions
Build Base
- Sauté vegetables in butter until softened.
- Add broth and bring to a simmer.
Add Chicken
- Stir in shredded chicken.
Dumpling Dough
- Mix flour, milk, salt, and pepper into a thick batter.
Drop & Steam
- Drop spoonfuls of dough into simmering broth.
- Cover and cook until dumplings puff and set.
Overseer’s Notes
- Keep the lid closed while dumplings cook.
- Thicker broth = more comfort.
- Add peas for color.
